The New England Revolution signed free-agent defender Omar Gonzalez to a two-year contract on Wednesday.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the team for Gonzalez, who has three MLS Cup titles (2011, 2012, 2014), four MLS Best XI selections (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014) and MLS Defender of the Year (2011) honors on his resume.

He also has made 52 international appearances with the United States men's national team.
"Omar Gonzalez is a proven winner, with trophies in Mexico and the United States. His experience internationally brings a unique background to the Revolution," sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said. "We anticipate that Omar will complement our current backline and help build this unit into one of the best in MLS."
Gonzalez, 33, recorded three goals and an assist in 27 matches (26 starts) with Toronto FC last season. He has 16 goals and 12 assists in 244 career matches with the LA Galaxy and Toronto.
Gonzalez is the second former Galaxy player from Arena's tenure there to reunite with the coach, after midfielder Sebastian Lletget moved from Los Angeles to New England last week.
"I am really excited to join the Revolution and am grateful for the opportunity to reunite with Bruce Arena in New England. Together we enjoyed many successful years in Los Angeles and I am ready to compete for more championships alongside him and my new teammates," Gonzalez said.

The Revs proved that they are a top club that wants to win. I can't wait to get down to business and add some hardware to the club."
Meanwhile, Toronto signed free agent defender Shane O'Neill, who had spent two seasons with Seattle Sounders FC. O'Neill has appeared in 121 games (101 starts) with Seattle, Orlando City SC (2018-19) and the Colorado Rapids (2012-15), scoring two goals.
Born in Ireland and raised in Boulder, Colo., O'Neill left MLS in 2015 and played in Cyprus, Belgium, England and the Netherlands before returning to the league.
