Brian Cage hasn’t wrestled on Dynamite for quite some time now, with his last TV appearance dating back to October 6th and his last three matches on television being losses. His wife Melissa Santos famously criticized AEW’s booking, but Konnan, who is close to Cage, said that The Machine’s dreams were always WWE.
The Mexican legend revealed this on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast: “I found out about him because Norman Smiley who works there as a trainer in WWE said ‘hey they’re releasing this guy and he is a good guy, can you help him in Mexico. He did a tryout match with Eli Drake, they were a team somewhere in California and they went for a AAA tryout and that is where I met him. He was always bummed that he did not make it in WWE so I think that was always his dream.”
As of today, Cage is still in AEW and wrestled on the Jericho Cruise at the end of October. After that, he worked some independent shows.
