Scarlett Fernandez Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Charlotte will have a new look soon as Scarlett Fernandez has revealed that she’s leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL. “I’m super grateful for the opportunity that [executive producer] Frank Valentini and [casting director] Mark Teschner gave me in 2016,” she shared on Instagram.
“Playing Charlotte Cassadine was my favorite and I’m sad it’s come to an end,” Fernandez added. “I will miss my castmates and the crew and I know the fans will support the new actor playing Charlotte. Thank you for all the support!”
Fernandez joined the cast of GH in October 2016 as young Charlotte, who was the center of a lot of paternity questions before not only was it revealed that Valentin Cassadine was her biological father, but Lulu Spencer was her biological mom! As viewers watched Fernandez grow up on screen, it quickly became clear that Charlotte takes after her dad as she’s a born troublemaker.
Naturally, the comments on the child star’s post filled with comments from fans and friends wishing her well in future endeavors, including some of her former GH castmates. “It was such a pleasure to work with you, Scarlett!” declared Mark Lawson (ex-Dustin). Fellow young actor Jophielle Love (Violet) wrote: “I am going to miss you a lot! You were like a big sister to me on set! Be well. And maybe we’ll see you again later!”
The Scarola twins, who play Avery, also expressed how much they will miss her and sent their love. And Theo and Erik Olson, who were recently recast as Wiley when they moved to France, sympathized. “We are so sad to see your time come to an end,” they said. “We feel that sadness deeply! Sending you our love.”
During her run on GH, Fernandez also appeared in primetime series like JANE THE VIRGIN, LETHAL WEAPON, SHAMELESS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE as well as the movies Silver Lake and The Nanny Murders. She’s a talented young performer who obviously has a very bright career ahead of her.
