The City of Tulsa and Restore Hope are working together to help Tulsans stay in their homes and avoid eviction.
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program has already paid millions to help those behind on rent.
Today, there will be an in-person event to sign up for assistance. The event is for anyone who lives in Tulsa County who needs help paying rent or utilities such as gas, water, and electricity.
It's funded by the federal government and has helped 6,000 households in the Tulsa area so far by giving out more than $27 million.
“There’s a huge need for rental assistance. We’ve received thousands of applications. We hear stories every day of people who need assistance, who need help," said Jeff Jaynes with Restore Hope.
Masks are required at the walk-in event.
It will be held at Infant Services at 1110 South Denver Avenue from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Other in-person opportunities to apply are provided regularly, including at the following locations:
- Iron Gate, 501 West Archer Street, Tulsa: Monday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m.
- Family Safety Center, 600 Civic Center, Tulsa: Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
