IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team will play their final game of an eight-game road trip Tuesday night when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes out of the Big 10 at 7 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Lions (4-8) are 1-6 on the current road trip, but have shown a lot of good signs. SLU put up a valiant effort against 11th-ranked Iowa State (11-0) Sunday afternoon. The Lions trailed, 31-23, with 15:49 left and 43-32 with 10:56 remaining before the Cyclones went on a 10-2 run to put the game out of reach.

SLU enters Tuesday's non-conference road finale featuring a balanced scoring effort. Gus Okafor (12.8 ppg), Keon Clergeot (12.1 ppg) and Jalyn Hinton (11.5 ppg) lead the Lions offensively. Hinton missed Sunday's game at Iowa State with a migraine headache but is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday night.

Hinton continues to lead the conference in blocked shots with 22 while senior Ryan Burkhardt is second in the league in made three-pointers with 27.

Iowa (8-3) started the season undefeated at 7-0 before dropping three straight games to second-ranked Purdue (10-1), Iowa State and Illinois (8-3). However, the Hawkeyes are coming off a 94-75 win over Utah State at home Saturday as they improved to 6-1 this season at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes possess the nation's leading scorer in sophomore Keegan Murray (6-8, 225, F) averaging 23.5 points per game. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native scored 35 points in Saturday's win over Utah State on 13-for-17 shooting.

Tuesday marks just the second meeting all-time between the Lions and Hawkeyes. Iowa edged Southeastern back on Dec. 29, 2006, 57-50, in Iowa City. The Lions will also be in search of their second win against a Big 10 school in program history (1-8). SLU defeated Penn State back on Dec. 12, 2006, 69-66.

Fans can watch Tuesday's game on Big 10 Network+ with links to video, audio and stats available on the Southeastern men's basketball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
