‘Horrible accident’: Woman hit while crossing 103rd Street

12/20/2021 UPDATE: A 48-year-old Jacksonville woman has critical injuries from being hit by a SUV Sunday night on 103rd Street east of Old Middleburg Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. Troopers said the woman stepped out into the path of the SUV and the driver, a 32-yea-old Jacksonville man, was unable to avoid her.

The woman was taken to Orange Park Medical Center and the FHP report said charges are pending.

12/19/2021 UPDATE 10:48 p.m.: Action News Jax spoke with the driver at the crash on 103rd Street. He says a woman ran across the street while he was heading east and she hit the side of his vehicle.

After the crash, the man pulled off to the side and called 911 before checking on the woman.

The man said it was a horrible accident. He told Action News Jax he wishes to remain anonymous.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol have confirmed there were injuries but it is unclear what the extent of those injuries are.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is responding to a crash with injuries in the 7900 block of 103rd Street.

All eastbound lanes of 103rd Street at the 7900 block have been shut down due to the crash. Click here for the traffic map to see alternate routes.
