Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Fiz Stape could be facing another very big change in her life soon, as she contemplates selling No 9 and moving into a new family home with boyfriend Phill Whittaker.

It's an emotional decision for Fiz, with so many memories tied up in the iconic Weatherfield house, and actress Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, has admitted that she's pretty upset about the idea of leaving Jack and Vera Duckworth's former home herself.

Speaking to Inside Soap, she revealed that the post-Christmas scenes in which Fiz makes the shock revelation to her ex Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) that she wants to sell up were "so hard to film".

"The thought of leaving the Duckworths' was emotional for me, never mind Tyrone! The house will always be theirs, and we're just lodgers," she said. "Fiz knows Tyrone won't take it well.

"But her memories of the house are tarnished now, and when Phill (Jamie Kenna) offers her a chance of a fresh start, Fiz decides that's just what she needs."

But with the prospect of moving in with family man Phill on the horizon, is he really the man for Fiz? Jennie isn't completely convinced.

"I think she's falling for him. He's never let her or the girls down. He's kind, caring, dependable, and she has no reason to doubt him," she said.

"I think Fiz is torn between her head and her heart, though. Her head is telling her Phill is the one, yet in her heart, I think it's Tyrone she wants. But not the Ty she sees now – she wants her life to rewind a year, and have the Tyrone she had last Christmas."

Sadly, there's been a lot of bad blood between Fiz and Tyrone over the past year, following Tyrone's decision to leave long-term partner Fiz for Alina Pop earlier in 2021 – only for Tyrone to later decide that he wanted Fiz back after splitting with Alina.

An uneasy truce has since been called and kind-hearted Fiz even cancels her and Phill's plans to spend Christmas at a log cabin, so that Tyrone can spend the day with daughters Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi).

But that doesn't mean that Christmas Day will be merry for the extended family, with Jennie teasing that Fiz will have a battle on her hands when it comes to the two men in her life spending the day together.

"It ends up being exhausting, and Fiz doesn't get to enjoy it at all," she said. "Tyrone's behaviour is very childish, but then Phill joins in, and by the end of Christmas, she's in absolute despair with them both."

Following all the drama, will Fiz push ahead with her plans for a fresh start?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
