EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has been treated to an adorable Christmas card from her on-screen sons Elliot and Cody Briffett.

Jessie portrays Kat Moon on the soap, while the twins have played Bert and Ernie Moon since 2018 – taking over from Freddie and Stanley Beale.

Smitten with her card, Wallace took a picture of it and shared the contents with her Instagram followers, writing: "Love this from my boys #bertandernie [red heart emoji]."

Elsewhere on the Albert Square front, Whitney Dean actress Shona McGarty recently spoke about being involved with this year's shocking Christmas storyline.

Discussing her character's thirst for finding out the truth about killer Gray Atkins, Shona told Digital Spy: "Whitney has known Gray for a long time so she's seen behaviours that she finds concerning, like his aggression.

"I think initially she put that down to the fact he'd lost his wife, he's a single parent and he's finding it all very difficult, but the warning signs are there now and she's expecting to find out that there is more to it and that he's not a very nice person."

Elsewhere, there's dramatic storylines on the cards for Rocky and Sandy and for Janine and Mick this Christmas, with the key moments teased in a first-look trailer.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
