Rowney is on non-roster IR which leaves the Red Wings a bit thin at the center position. Kyle Criscuolo was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday -- initially as a replacement for Michael Rasmussen and Robby Fabbri, who are also in protocols -- and he'll continue to round out the bottom six with Rowney out of commission.
