I'm Myles Pollard: This is why I'm going to Michigan football

Myles Pollard
For The Tennessean

The Tennessean asked Ravenwood senior Myles Pollard to say in his own words why he chose to sign with Michigan. Pollard explains why he chose the Wolverines.

At first it was all about the football program.

Then I researched the business school and was blown away. Not only was Michigan a great football school, but the education is one of the best in the country.

The opportunity to learn and grow as a student in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business will be an honor and privilege considering less than 100 students are admitted to the school each year. Students leave the Ross School of Business with a reputation of being innovative and focused on applying business principles to real-world scenarios.

I can’t pass on an opportunity like that. The odds for success are in my favor! I plan to pursue a career in real estate and the Ross School of Business is the perfect place to develop those skills. The Michigan Real Estate Club offers an opportunity to see how your classroom experience is applied in the real world.

There are weekly meetings with Michigan’s most successful alumni real estate professionals and a solid mentoring program to help you build a network that would take years to develop on my own.

On the football side of things… Michigan is a true blueblood football program with a long history of competing on the highest level of college football. A chance to play in a Power 5 conference and compete for a national championship has been one of my dreams for as long as I can remember. Michigan gives me a chance to live out that dream!

The first time I walked on campus, it felt good… I was relaxed. I was comfortable. Then I got a chance to tour the football facilities and meet the coaches and players. It all seemed like a good fit for me.

Most of the defensive coaches were new and the style of defense they wanted to play was perfect for my game! By the time I went back for my official visit, I could tell the team was believing in the changes the new coaches were making.

The vibe in the building was good and I felt like good things were coming. Then they beat Ohio State and I was convinced that I was making the right decision! Go Blue!
