The Winnipeg Jets kick off a three-game homestand tonight with a matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. Tonight’s game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. central time.

The Jets are back in Winnipeg after playing back-to-back road games on back-to-back nights on Thursday and Friday of last week. The Jets picked up three of four available points on that short road trip as they shut out the Seattle Kraken 3-0 on Thursday but then lost to the Vancouver Cancuks 4-3 in a shootout on Friday.

The Sabres come to Winnipeg on a seven-game losing streak in which they have lost six of those games in regulation. On Saturday, Buffalo lost to the Capitals 3-2 in a shootout.

Neal Pionk will return to the Winnipeg Jets lineup tonight against the Buffalo Sabres

After receiving a two-game suspension for his hit on Rasmus Sandin on December 5 and after receiving a hit to the head in the same game, Jets star defenseman, Neal Pionk will be back in the lineup for the Jets after missing the past three games.

Other Winnipeg Jets Lineup News

The Jets also received news that their captain, Blake Wheeler will be out for weeks, but since the Manitoba Moose had a positive COVID-19 test, the Jets have not called anyone up from the AHL.

Paul Maurice and the Jets coaching staff have already announced that they will dress eleven forwards and seven defensemen tonight.

Considering the recent play of these two teams, it is no surprise the Jets are the clear favorites in this contest. It is interesting to note the home and away splits between these sides. The Jets have a great 9-4-1 record on home ice while the Sabres have a dreadful 2-7-2 record on the road.
