Watch Thief Robs Groom On Wedding Day, Krasnerland Writes Itself

Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by continuing with more updates on crime in and around Philadelphia, as the negative implication of District Attorney Larry Krasner’s policies rear their ugly head. Giordano reveals another watch robbery, this time outside a wedding in Old City, with the burglar taking off with a Rolex watch. Then, Giordano welcomes Bruce Castor back onto the Dom Giordano Program. Castor, who seems to find his way into the headlines, previously joined the show as prosecutor in the Bill Cosby case and member of Trump’s impeachment defense team, has now filed a federal lawsuit targeting vaccine mandates. Last week, Castor, representing the American Federation of Government Employees, sued the government, seeking to prohibit the U.S. government from enforcing an executive order requiring employees be vaccinated. Castor explains why he’s filed the lawsuit, telling of the constitutional implications of enforcing such a mandate, and forecasts how the suit may go. Then, Giordano takes a detour to discuss climate change after tornadoes ravaged the Midwest, and swings back to discussing crime in Philadelphia, playing back clips from District Attorney Larry Krasner’s weekly press conference on crime.

Who’s Reporting On Crime In The City?

Then, in the second hour, Giordano picks up where he left off, discussing Larry Krasner’s weekly crime press conference. First, Giordano takes a caller who asks who the reporters are asking questions at the press conference. Giordano, Dan, and the caller discusses the media environment in Philadelphia, with Dan digging into the Philadelphia Inquirer newsroom in a hunt for an old-school crime report. Then, Giordano takes things national and discusses the departure of Chris Wallace from Fox News, asking listeners who they’d like to see replace the long standing Sunday host. After that, Giordano goes international, telling that NBA great Dominique Wilkins has now joined up with Enes Kanter in speaking out against China, something others in the NBA refuse to do. Then, Giordano steps aside for Dan Time with Dom, with producer Dan taking the reins, to discuss some apolitical stories including Time’s Person of the Year and the newly released Golden Globe nominations.

Golden Globes Nominees Announced, What’s The Beef This Year?

Christian Toto joins Dom Giordano to lead off the third hour of today’s Dom Giordano Program. First, Christian reveals the mission statement of his podcast, Right on Hollywood with Christian Toto, explaining the importance of looking at media and pop culture through a conservative lens. Then, Giordano and Toto discuss the Golden Globe nominations, which have gotten some pushback for lack of representation, and tell whether they believe certain movies and television shows deserve their nomination. Then, after playing Dom’s Money Melody for tickets to see Transiberian Orchestra live at the Wells Fargo Center, Giordano switches back to local issues, playing back clips from District Attorney Larry Krasner’s press conference from this morning.

Then, Philadelphia Councilman David Oh returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss multiple issues playing out around the city. First, Giordano and Oh discuss the breaking news of a new vaccine mandate for restaurants around Philadelphia. Earlier today, Mayor Kenney held a press conference in which he announced that the city would start requiring businesses to check for vaccinations before allowing admittance into their establishment.
Councilman Oh tries to take a measured approach on the situation, but explains the situation through the eyes of business owners who have already lost so much during the pandemic. Then, Giordano and Oh discuss crime unfolding around the city, first discussing an incident at a pizza shop in Spring Garden in which a 14 year old was forced to defend his mother and his family’s business from a burglar. Also, since last time speaking, Councilman Oh held a hearing on the violence playing out on SEPTA public transportation, to which Oh gives an update.
