Dash cam shows a crash involving Doña Ana County sheriff's deputy and moped rider that happened in November.
Video shows deputy Raymundo Maynes heading W. Pichacho Avenue and merging left at the intersection of Motel Drive before a moped rider wrecks head-on into the deputy's vehicle on November 1.
Casey May, 61, suffered injuries from the crash and was flown to University Medical Center in El Paso.
His injuries listed were a broken femur, cut on forehead and bleeding from his midsection area.
The crash occurred at 5:23 a.m.
Maynes was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe issued to the sheriff's office.
Failed to yield the right of way on behalf of Maynes was determined to be the cause of the crash, according to the police report conducted by New Mexico State Police.
The report stated that Maynes entered the intersection when the signal light turned yellow.
May who was wearing a helmet survived.
Maynes was issued a traffic citation, according to DASO Sheriff Kim Stewart.
