Former UC Quarterback Zach Collaros Wins Third CFL Grey Cup

The title is Collaros's second as a Blue Bomber.

CINCINNATI — Grey Cup run complete!

Former Bearcat and current Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros rallied his team from a nine-point deficit on Sunday to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-25 in the 108th Grey Cup. Collaros is now a three-time Canadian Football League champion and also won Grey Cup MVP after throwing for 240 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Blue Bombers got the job done behind the 2021 CFL Most Outstanding Player. Collaros won the award last week and led his team to another CFL title against Hamilton. Collaros won his second Grey Cup and the first for Winnipeg since 1990 33-12 over Hamilton in 2019.

Collaros bounced around multiple teams that season before finding a home in Winnipeg. All he's accomplished since is go 17-1 in games that matter and amass a plus-173 point differential in 2021—the largest in the CFL by 105 points.

Collaros attended Cincinnati from 2008-11 and was a key figure in the transition out of the Brian Kelly era.
