Stolen Vehicles from Morton County Recovered in Baca County CO

On December 10th, 2021 Morton County Sheriff’s Office took reports for two vehicles stolen from individuals in Elkhart, Kansas. The vehicles were taken between the dates of Thursday December 9th and Friday December 10th. Bolos were sent out to surrounding counties and surrounding States for the stolen vehicles.

On December 10th the Baca Co Sheriff’s Office contacted the Morton County Sheriff Office to verify the description and tag information on the vehicles. Baca County Deputies located one of the missing vehicles, and, upon further investigation the second missing vehicle was also located. Baca county deputies detained four (4) individuals in connection with the investigation.

At approximately 5 pm, a tip was called in giving the location of a third vehicle, 2001 Ford F-250 that was reported stolen on Thursday December 9th. The identity of the pick up was confirmed by Morton County Deputies at a rural location in Morton County.

Charges for three (3) individuals have been forwarded to the Morton County Attorney for review.
