The Galaxy began remaking its roster for the 2022 season with a pair of trades Sunday.

The club traded defender Daniel Steres to the Houston Dynamo in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft and sent forward Ethan Zubak to Nasvhille SC for a first-round pick (No. 21 overall).

The trades took place during a half-day trade window that opened at 6 a.m. Sunday and closed at 10 a.m.

Both Steres, 31, and Zubak, 23, began their careers with Galaxy II.

After two seasons with Galaxy II, Steres joined the Galaxy in 2015 under Bruce Arena. He made 140 career appearances with the Galaxy (127 starts) during his career.

“Daniel was one of the first signings from LA Galaxy II to the first team and had a successful career with the Galaxy, showcasing the talent within our organization,” Galaxy president Chris Klein. “We’d like to thank Daniel for his commitment and contributions to our club and wish him the best in the next step of his career.”

Steres made just 18 appearances (13 starts) last season. He was the second-longest tenured player on the Galaxy behind Sebastian Lletget, who is also rumored to be on the move this off-season.

Zubak was signed as a Homegrown Player in 2019. He began with the Galaxy Academy and then moved up to Galaxy II. In three seasons with the Galaxy, he made 36 appearances (17 starts) with three goals and one assist.
