Small-plane crash in Kentucky kills two Nicholasville men

CRAB ORCHARD, Ky. (AP) — A small-plane crash near the Crab Orchard community on Friday killed the two people on board, Kentucky State Police said in a news release.

Police were called just after 5:00 p.m., and responding officers located a fixed wing, single engine airplane in a densely wooded area of Lincoln County. The two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner. They were identified as Ronald Eldridge, 61, and Lowell Strong, 63, both of Nicholasville. Their bodies will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer in Frankfort for autopsies.

Police secured the site and notified the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to further investigate the crash.
