ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Musician and singer-songwriter Brooke Simpson is performing live in Rocky Mount on Saturday night in her first concert since appearing on "America's Got Talent" over the summer.
The concert at the Rocky Mount Event Center is near the end of a busy 2021 for Simpson, who placed fourth overall on the show in September. Simpson said her run on the show was 'a dream come true' and she hoped she inspired 'other indigenous girls to follow their dream.'

"It was incredible and it was such an honor to be able to have that platform to share my voice and my artistry," Simpson said. "Ever since that opportunity, it has just been crazy."

Simpson says she plans on releasing her debut album in 2022. She has released two singles, 'You Only Had One Job' and 'Haliwa,' so far.

"It's got something for everyone to relate to on it," Simpson said. She'll make her Broadway debut next year in the revival of '1776.'

Since becoming a fan favorite on AGT, Simpson's career has gotten a huge boost as she's garnered around 123,000 followers on Instagram as of Friday.

Tickets are available at rockymountevents.com through 11 p.m. on Friday. You can also get them at the venue until show time, which is 7:30.
