We remember Paul Michael Glaser as the original Starsky from the television show, “Starsky & Hutch.”

Glaser is also an amazing artist and author. On Dec. 19, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., he will be presenting both arts at the Muzeo.

He will read excerpts from his book “Chrystallia and the Source of Light.” Books will be offered for sale and Glaser will personalize. His art will also be available for sale and a portion of the sale and books will support the ongoing work of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation.

Caroling with the Southern California Philharmonic

Don’t miss the free holiday classics and sing-along event with the Southern California Philharmonic on Dec. 11.

The performance will start at 2 p.m. at the Pearson Park Amphitheatre. There will be pre-show activities beginning at 1 p.m.with holiday crafts for all ages.

It’s free and fun in the holiday spirit!

Art Show in Center Gallery

Artist Vickie Green will be having a solo show of her art, “Simple Pleasures,” through Dec. 30 at the Center Gallery in Anaheim.

History  at Anaheim libraries

The Anaheim Central Library is hosting a monthly Speaker Series through January focusing on the city’s history.

Upcoming topics include: “Anaheim High: The Lives and Times of our Town’s Historic School” by Janet Brown and Tom Bateman at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15; and the final segment, “Anaheim Cemetery: Over 150 Years of Orange County’s History” by Cynthia Wardon at 5 p.m. on Jan. 19.

Coppers & Cycles motorcycle training event

There will be a free motorcycle training event held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 in the west parking lot of Angel Stadium.

The training will be hosted by the Anaheim Police Department’s Traffic Division. Sign up at coppersandcycles.com.

A valid M1 license or permit is required to participate.

On display at Muzeo

The Muzeo has two exhibits on display that will be available to experience through Jan. 9 in its Carnegie Galleries.

One features Clarence Pencilman Pointer’s exhibit “Painting with a Pencil” and the other is Yara Almouradi’s “Seen and Heard” with portraits of Syrian refugees.

Also, the  “Walk through Anaheim History” exhibit is always available.

Virtual exhibits are available on the website, muzeo.org. The Muzeo is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays and the gift shop has an array of gifts for the holidays.

Street to celebrate 100-year-old neighbor

Bill Rowe has lived in Anaheim since 1951, and has lived on Pine Way since 1955. He moved into the house the day that Disneyland opened! Rowe was a pilot in WWII and worked as an aerospace engineer.

He walks his neighborhood every day, sometimes two or three times a day.

There will be a 100th birthday celebration for Bill on Dec. 11, involving the entire block. The Anaheim community is invited!

Come by and wish Bill well in the Pine Way Parade. Pine Way is located between Sycamore and Wilhelmina streets, just one block west of Harbor Boulevard.  For parade time and more, contact Bill’s neighbor Reon Boydstun Howard at 714-778-4261.

Light up Anaheim

The Anaheim Beautiful Holiday Lights Program is open for nominations; applications are due by 6 p.m. Dec. 13.

All information will be on the Anaheimbeautiful.org website.

The event is in partnership with Anaheim Public Utilities so there will be an LED light awards. There will also be an award given in each of the six City Council Districts. There will be a variety of other awards including the “Miss Anaheim Beautiful’s Choice Award.”

A map will be made available on the Anaheim Beautiful website that lists all the homes for people to visit.

Planning a Christmas Eve community brunch

For the 13th year, K&A Cafe and Catering is hosting its annual holiday brunch for the community on Christmas Eve.

K & A Café is joining with Anaheim Fire, Cops4Kids, AT&T Pioneers, Anaheim Pageantry and the community to provide the annual brunch to feed local families that need a little extra help during the holidays. There will be crafts for the kids, a visit from Santa Claus with lots of gifts, and the hope of the group to feed as many as possible.

The event is planned for 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24 at the Center Street Promenade. Volunteers are needed for set up and clean up, donated toys are needed and there will be a gift wrapping session ahead of time, as well.  Please join the team and help make this event possible.

Help a Marine with Christmas

The Anaheim 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit Committee is busy with its annual holiday toy drive.

The committee wants to make the season brighter for the adopted 13th MEU Marines, sailors and their families.  You can help to sponsor a child with a gift, donate a gift car, fly a Marine home for the holidays or adopt a family. Deadline for donation is Dec. 13. Drop off locations include Boydstun Realty, 703 N.
