NEW ORLEANS, (BRPROUD)- On Wednesday, Dec. 8 the U.S Department of Justice District Court Judge for Eastern District of Louisiana Attorney Duane A. Evans announces the verdict of 31-year-old Sterling Robinson also known as “Scooter.”

Robinson was convicted on Tuesday, Dec. 7, by a jury—for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and obstruction of justice.

The pled documents explain that testimony and evidence introduced at trial proves that Robinson possessed a firearm and ammunition, in which— he fired five shots into a car being driven by his girlfriend with her nine-year-old son as a passenger.

The shooting occurred on March 13, 2020, in the 7700 block of Downman Road in New Orleans as stated in the court documents— when Robinson obstructed justice by attempting to dishonestly influence his girlfriend into testifying that someone else shot at her and her son.

The 31-year-old was previously convicted of a federal felony charge for being in possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. At the time of the offense—he was still on supervised release with U.S. probation after having served a five-year sentence for that previous conviction the release states.

Robinson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison; up to three years of supervised release— and a fine of up to $250,000 with a mandatory assessment fee of $100.
