DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys running back Tony Pollard missed Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury, according to the team's injury report.
The severity of Pollard's injury is unknown at this time, but "there is some concern" about his availability for this Sunday's NFC East showdown against the Washington Football Team, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
With Ezekiel Elliott and Pollard now banged up, the Cowboys elected to sign former 2018 fourth-round pick Ito Smith to their practice squad on Wednesday. Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has some familiarity with the running back from their time together in Atlanta.
In his three seasons with the Falcons, Smith operated largely in a reserve role behind Devonta Freeman and Todd Gurley. He had 689 yards rushing, 314 yards receiving and six touchdowns in 35 games.
Smith spent time with the Cardinals and the Vikings in training camp this August but hasn't been with an organization since.
