Cowboys starting running back Ezekiel Elliott addressed his nagging right knee injury on Wednesday.
The three-time Pro Bowler, speaking to reporters at Cowboys practice, said that missing game action was not in the cards for him, joking that he'd have to be "dragged" off the field first.
The sixth-year pro was reported to have a balky knee following the Cowboys' win over the Saints on Thursday Night Football in Week 13.
An MRI performed the following day showed improvement, Elliott said on Wednesday. He declined to specify the exact nature of the injury, but added that playing on the knee can't exacerbate the issue. While not at full strength yet, Elliott estimated he would be in another 3-4 weeks -- "perfect timing" for the playoffs, he said.
The knee injury comes amid a run of tough play for Elliott, who has fallen short of 70 yards rushing in seven games since consecutive 100-yard rushing games in Weeks 4 and 5.
The Cowboys improved to 8-4 with the win over the Saints, ending a two-game skid in the process. They were set to face the Football Team in Washington in Week 14, with kickoff scheduled for noon CT.
