A Missouri man is accused of threatening to shoot up a high school in the name of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Mitchell Lovelace, 27, a resident of Festus, Missouri, said on social media that he would stage the shooting, according to charging documents. He had allegedly been making the threats Saturday on Snapchat.

“No wonder why schools get shot, the news just proved we can get away with it, especially if it’s a [expletive] like Festus,” he reportedly said.

Lovelace’s bail was denied. He previously mentioned committing violence toward himself, his parents, police, and a former president, according to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The connection between Rittenhouse and a school shooting is unclear, as Rittenhouse was not involved in one.
