Man sentenced to up to nine years in prison for knocking over Christopher Columbus statue

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. —
A man has been sentenced to between four to nine years in prison for toppling a Christopher Columbus statue on Lenox Lane in June 2021.

The man also broke the front glass doors at the Lancaster County Courthouse and the Lancaster Adult Probation buildings that same month.
Francisco Rodrigues plead guilty to three counts of institutional vandalism and two counts of possessing an instrument of crime.

The 34-year-old was transferred to a State Correctional Institution following his sentencing.
