Stores across the city are decking their storefronts with lights, garland and now beautiful holiday paintings. The artwork is from artist Jenny Kenny.
Kenny paints on the windows of the stores, transforming them into holiday scenes. Each piece of art is designed according to each individual store as well as any requests.
Some favorites include Santa Claus, snowmen, bells and winter landscapes.
Kenny has been perfecting this skill since growing up in Ireland. She continued when she moved to the Bronx at 22.
Local businesses hire Kenny to help spread holiday cheer to the community.
“It brings a certain comfort to the establishment,” says Kenny.
Kenny says when people see the festive artwork, it makes them happy.
Prices for the window paints vary depending on the size. The average piece costs $150 and takes around an hour or two.
