Jacksonville on Outside Magazine's list of the 20 Most Livable Towns and Cities in America
For two decades, Outside Magazine has been putting together an annual list of best places to live. Jacksonville made the magazine's 2021 list.
"The past year showed us all that having access to the outdoors is essential for our health and well-being," the magazine said. "It also magnified the inequities inherent in that access. For 2021’s Best Towns package, we chose 13 of the country’s most diverse places and evaluated them according to the factors that matter today: sustainability, affordability, and outdoor equity."
The magazine took reports from WalletHub ranking cities for diversity and sustainability, used data from the Trust for Public Land about outdoor equity, eliminated places that had a median home price of more than $600,000 and ultimately came up with this year's list: the 20 Most Livable Towns and Cities in America (13 cities and seven "towns on the rise").
