PSG forward Kylian Mbappe has long been tipped to succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the future as one of the best players in the world. After his latest outstanding performance in the Champions League, he has cemented his phenom status even further.

The young Frenchman netted a 7-minute brace against Club Brugge in PSG's final Champions League group stage game. He scored his first goal of the night after just 2 minutes. The opener was Mbappe's 30th Champions League goal in his young professional career. In scoring the goal, he became the youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals, breaking the record previously held by current teammate Messi.

PSG's young star Mbappe reached the 30-goal milestone at just 22 years and 352 days. In contrast, it took the legendary Messi 23 years and 131 days to reach that same total himself back in 2010. Mbappe scored his first Champions League goal in 2017 while playing for AS Monaco against Manchester City. He went on to score 5 more goals in the competition that season, placing himself in the spotlight as one to keep an eye on. Following his breakthrough season, he earned a big-money move to PSG where he has now broken Lionel Messi's record.

Not one to be happy with just one goal, Mbappe proceeded to double his tally after just 6 minutes. However, he also did Messi a favor by providing the assist for the Argentine's goal. PSG ultimately won the match 4-1.

With his contract expiring soon, Kylian Mbappe's overall display shows exactly why every club wants him. This season, he already has 11 goals and 14 assists in just 22 appearances in all competitions. PSG are currently top of the French league and second in their Champions League group.
