Humana Foundation names CEO

Tiffany Benjamin is stepping in as CEO of the Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the national payer, the payer announced Dec. 7.

Ms. Benjamin formerly led social impact efforts at Eli Lilly and Co. and helmed its charitable arm as president. In 2020, she chartered the Lilly Foundation's initiatives to combat COVID-19 and racial inequity. 

"Our board of directors is excited to introduce a leader of Tiffany's caliber to help guide the strategic direction of the Humana Foundation while continuing a legacy of supporting organizations that do indispensable work in our communities," said Bruce Broussard, president and CEO of Humana and Humana Foundation board of directors chair. "She brings a strong sense of purpose and deep strategic perspective to engaging our communities and accelerating best health outcomes for all."

Ms. Benjamin begins her term Jan. 3 where she takes over for interim CEO Caraline Coats, who assumed the role July 1. Humana has since tapped Ms. Coats to lead its South Florida Medicare market.
