ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after an arrest.
Just after 8:30a.m. Monday, officers responded to the 1500 block South 8th Street in Atchison to investigate reported trespassing, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Officers located a suspect later identified as 27-year-old Jason C. Price of Atchison several blocks.
Price ran from officers. He was apprehended in the 1000 block South 7th and he was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to Wilson.
Price is jailed on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Price has been jailed in Atchison on a variety of charges over a dozen times in the past ten years, according to online jail records. He has previous convictions that include theft, burglary, criminal damage to property and attempt to flee and elude law enforcement, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
