The Jersey jersey is here.
Finally, after months of creation, prepping and planning, the Devils will debut the franchise's first-ever third jersey tonight.
And what better way to make a debut than against a big divisional rival, in a game where points are precious.

P.K. Subban spoke this morning of his excitement to see the whole jersey and kit on the ice for a big game.
"I'm definitely excited about it," he said this morning. "I know the guys are pretty fired up and excited when the jerseys first came out, so we're pretty excited tonight but it would be nice to get a win too."
You can watch the game on MSG+ or listen on the Devils Hockey Network. Puck drop is 7:08 p.m. ET.

INSIDE THE DEVILS

The Devils continue a stretch of four games in six nights when they host the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. New Jersey lost the first of the four games on Monday, 3-2 in the shootout to the Ottawa Senators and will look to rebound against the Flyers.

PRE-GAME STORY

NEWARK, N.J. - As most morning skates are, this one was optional this morning for New Jersey. Only Christian Jaros and Jesper Boqvist, who both did not play in the Devils last game, were on the ice with goaltender Jonathan Bernier.
A BIG WEEK
This week is a big one for the New Jersey Devils, trying to right the ship after a tough 10-game stretch. On Monday the team picked up a point against the Senators in their shootout victory, a point that Lindy Ruff said the team was disappointed to give up.
In the team's last 10 games they have posted just two wins with a 2-5-3 record. Two of the three remaining games this week are against divisional opponents, starting with Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The Devils host the Nashville Predators on Friday and visit the Islanders on Saturday.
FIND THAT SWAGGER
It's no secret the last few games have been difficult for the Devils in terms of picking up points and trying to find consistency in their game is what is going to help turn things around. If anything the team can draw on the success they had at the beginning of the year, and a certain swagger described by P.K. Subban.
"We haven't had the starts that we would like to have over the past few games, and I don't think that's a lack of preparation. We prepare really well," he shared this morning. "During the start of the season we got on a little bit of a run, I think it's that confidence of going out and knowing that you're going to get points, you're going to win hockey games. For us I think we need to get that swagger back into our game."

REUNITING AN OLD LINE
For the last two games, Nico Hischier has been centering a line with Pavel Zacha and Jesper Bratt on his wings. It's a line the Devils heavily relied on last season, and the coaching staff has turned to the trio once again. While Bratt was having ample success with Andreas Johansson and Dawson Mercer, there is hope that splitting that line up will help spark the play of others.
For Bratt, he has no preference as to which line combination is used, he likes both options for himself. And no matter which line it is, Jesper wants it to be a line that leads the way.
"It's two great lines overall, I enjoy playing with both of them," Bratt said after practice on Tuesday. "Especially now coming back with Pav and Nico, it's been awesome. We know each other well, and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves and we put pressure on each other to be good too. We want to be a line for the team that the team can trust, and for us coming out there working hard in practice, we try to set the tone for the team to be on a roll with us."

DEVILS (9-9-5) vs. FLYERS (8-11-4)
TV: 7 p.m. ET; Televised on MSG+
Head-to-Head
The Devils rebounded from what Lindy Ruff called their worst performance of the season against Nashville with a big win against the Flyers in their first meeting this season back on Nov. 28. New Jersey defeated Philadelphia in that game 5-2, backed by a four-point night for Andreas Johnsson (2G, 2A). The Devils handed Philadelphia their sixth straight loss with their November victory.
Devils team scope:
New Jersey will play their second game of a three-game homestand with a matchup against the Flyers. The Devils are looking to snap a winless skid of their own, their last victory coming against the Flyers back on Nov. 28.
The Devils did not change their lines during Tuesday's practice which focused on every aspect of a game from five-on-five, special teams and even some time working on the shootout.
Flyers team scope:
The Flyers are now being coached under interim head coach Mike Yeo after Alain Vigneault was dismissed from his head coaching duties on Monday. Along with Vigneault, assistant coach Michel Therrien was also let go.
In their first game under Yeo, the Flyers were out-matched against the Colorado Avalanche in a 7-5 loss. The Flyers winless streak has reached nine straight games, with an 0-7-2 record.
By the Numbers:
Jesper Bratt's assist on Damon Severson's opening goal against the Senators was the 100th assist of his career and his 150th point overall. Severson's goal was the 43rd of his NHL career, all with New Jersey. He is just one goal away from tying Brian Rafalski for sixth all-time in franchise history for goals by a defenseman.
The Flyers scored five goals in their loss to the Avalanche on Monday, their highest goal output since Oct. 27.
