The Buffalo Bills lost at home to the New England Patriots on Monday night. Afterward, head coach Sean McDermott and a couple of Bills players didn’t take the 14-10 loss particularly well.

The game featured 40 mph gusts of wind and a Patriots offense that ran the ball 46 times for 222 yards while attempting just three passes – the fewest number of attempts in any NFL game since 1974.

Following the game, Bills safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer walked out of their press conference after a reporter asked if the team’s inability to stop the Patriots’ rushing attack embarrassed them.

In a separate presser, McDermott appeared to go out of his way to suggest he hadn’t been out-couched by Bill Belichick.

“Let’s not give more credit than we need to Bill Belichick,” said McDermott. “Whether it was Bill or anybody else, they beat us, right? But you sit here and you tell me when we start with an average starting field position of the 40-yard line and he starts with the 23-yard line – I’m rounding up in both cases – and we were 1 for 4 in the red zone and they were 0 for 1 in the red zone? You give me that ahead of time, I’d say I like my chances. I like my chances.”

The reaction from McDermott and a couple of his players didn’

t sit well with Michael Wilbon.

“And then [there’s] the Buffalo Bills, they get mad at people for asking questions, at the media, and the head coach is snippy,” said Wilbon on Tuesday’s Pardon the Interruption. “Shut up! You got your fat butts kicked! And you wanna quibble with the questions? Huh? They ran it down your throat. Take it! Be a man about it. Be accountable for it. I’m sick of the Buffalo Bills.”

He later added, “The tone is set by the guy at the top. And if he’s whiney, his players are likely to be whiney.”

Wilbon called the Bills behavior after the game as “weak-hearted” as their play during the game.

“Somebody ran it down their throats and they have the nerve to complain?” he said. “Are you kidding me? Get them off the stage. Get Buffalo off the stage, please.”
