Norwin school leaders get around mask mandate by holding meetings away from school property

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Norwin school officials are trying a new approach to get around the state requirement to wear masks inside school buildings, by holding meetings off school property.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, board members voted earlier this year to still hold their meetings within the district, just not on school property. While a location has not yet been picked, the idea is to find a place where masks aren’t required and that still has reliable internet to allow the meeting to be broadcast online.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s mask mandate for school buildings is set to be lifted Jan. 17.
