If you own a modern Pixel phone, it's now easier than ever to capture a photo on Snapchat. That's because an update is rolling out that lets you tap the back of your phone to open Snapchat's camera. Here's what you need to know.

You Can Now Quick Tap to Take a Snapchat

As announced on The Keyword, the latest update to Pixel phones is rolling out from today.

Quick Tap is a feature on some Pixel phones which lets you double tap the back of your phone to perform an action. Now, with Quick Tap to Snap, you can access Snapchat from your lock screen. Simply double tap the back of your phone and you'll go straight to Snapchat's camera.

This feature is only available on Pixel 4a with 5G or newer devices. The update is rolling out from today; Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices will receive it next week.

According to Google, this makes the Pixel the fastest phone to make a Snap. As such, if you're a Snapchat fanatic, you might want to consider a Pixel phone as your next device.

However, be aware that using Quick Tap to Snap means that anyone using your phone might be able to access the Snapchat camera, potentially overriding any lock screen.

What Else Is Coming to Pixel Phones?

Google also outlined some other features that are arriving on the broader Pixel range. These include the ability to unlock your car with your phone, an updated song recognition experience, an accessibility feature to help you hear your conversation partner more clearly, and car crash detection to automatically share your location with emergency contacts.

Also, for the Snapchat fiends, you'll be able to add a new Pixel-exclusive Lens (Pixel Face) to your Snaps, with more filters coming in the future.
