Salt Lake City police arrested a 26-year-old man accused of driving under the influence, then found him to be in possession of "multiple dangerous weapons."
The investigation began at approximately 6:10 a.m. on Monday in the area of 1400 S. 300 West.
Officers responded to a report of a possible road rage incident. When they arrived at the scene they were provided with a description of the suspect's car.
Later that morning, officers found the vehicle in question and attempted to stop the driver.
According to a press release from the Salt Lake City Police Department, the driver, Onkar Singh, 26, did not listen to their demands and continued driving "in a reckless manner."
Officer did not give chase but later found Singh's car in a parking lot at 1200 S. 900 West.
Singh was in the car at the time and taken into custody.
After the arrest, and during the investigation, police found a loaded gun with the serial number shaved off, two batons, multiple knives, a sword, a knife with brass knuckles and two sai daggers.
Singh was booked in the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on the offenses of driving under the influence, obstruction of justice, altered number on pistol, reckless driving and several other potential charges.
