Outer Banks’ Drew Starkey starring in rom-com with After’s Josephine Langford and Shadow and Bone’s Archie Renaux

An exciting collision of Netflix stars is coming soon to a screen near you in the upcoming romantic comedy movie The Other Zoey. Drew Starkey from Outer Banks, Josephine Langford from the After movies, and Archie Renaux from Shadow and Bone are all set to star.

The Other Zoey comes from director Sara Zandieh and stars Josephine Langford as a college student named Zoey, whose perspective on love and dating comes into question when a fellow classmate mistakes her for his girlfriend, who’s coincidentally named Zoey, too.

Deadline first announced the upcoming rom-com starring the three talented stars well-known by Netflix fans, along with the news that the movie will begin filming in December 2021 in North Carolina. However, there’s currently no release date or release platform confirmed.

But if you’re a fan of one, two, or all three of these young stars, you’re probably wondering what their new movie means for their latest projects set to hit Netflix next year. Let’s dive into what’s next for Outer Banks, the After movies, and Shadow and Bone.

Drew Starkey, Josephine Langford, Archie Renaux rom-com

Thankfully for OBX fans, Outer Banks season 3 has officially been renewed by Netflix, and Drew Starkey will be reprising his role as Rafe Cameron for the new season.

Again, there’s no word on when OBX3 will begin filming, but it will surely start production after Starkey wraps on The Other Zoey and Chase Stokes wraps on Uglies.

Meanwhile, Netflix fans know Josephine Langford best from the After movies, and we’re all still impatiently waiting for After We Fell to come to the streaming service. The latest installment in the franchise was expected to stream on Netflix in 2021, but the release appears to have been pushed to sometime in 2022.

Following the release of After We Fell, three more entries are on the way in the form of the sequel After Ever Happy, along with an additional sequel and a prequel.

Shadow and Bone star Archie Renaux will also be in The Other Zoey with Drew Starkey and Josephine Langford. Renaux and Starkey appeared to stoke rumors that the Outer Banks star would jump over to Shadow and Bone season 2, but with their movie now announced, that rumor seems all the more unlikely.

Unfortunately, Shadow and Bone fans will also have to keep patiently waiting for good news on a season 2 release date as production doesn’t seem to have begun just yet.

Nevertheless, we’re excited to see Drew Starkey, Josephine Langford, and Archie Renaux share the screen in the rom-com The Other Zoey. Who knows, maybe Netflix will acquire the movie’s rights and it will be the next best Netflix original movie coming in 2022.
