College basketball season is in full swing and we always are combing through the nightly slate to find the best bets on the board. After a few days off, we bring back the column that went 1-2 in its inaugural post.

Tuesday has a ton of games to choose from, but here are three that I have keyed in on.

Here are my three best bets for December 7th, which you can also find here in real time and have additional plays.

Column Record: 1-2 (-1.1 units)

College Basketball Best Bets For December 7th

  • Texas Tech: +4 (-105)
  • Navy: +5.5 (-110)
  • Kansas: -18 (-110)

Texas Tech (+4) vs. Tennessee

I have a full write up from earlier this morning here, but I like the Red Raiders on a neutral floor against a potentially run down Tennessee team. The Vols are coming back from a game at Colorado on Saturday and may not be able to match the energy of the Texas Tech defense that is fifth in opponent's turnover rate this season.

Navy (+5.5) at George Mason

After beating Maryland on November 17th, the Patriots have dropped five straight games. Meanwhile, Navy started their season playing three quality ACC opponents in Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Louisville, taking the first one before being overwhelmed in the latter two.

Since then, the team has beat up on inferior competition en route to five straight.

The edge in this game comes on the defensive side of the ball, where the Midshipmen rank inside the top 100 in forcing turnovers and limiting opponents offensive rebounds. As well, the team's methodical pace and stingy halfcourt defense will make a perimeter-oriented GMU team work for clean looks.

Navy isn't a good three-point shooting team by any means, but this is too many points to give against a sputtering George Mason team right now.

Kansas (-18) vs. UTEP

This is a slam spot for Kansas, who should overpower their inferior opponent. UTEP struggles to score all over the court, posting the 319th best effective field goal percentage this season, and will have an even tougher time facing the best defense they have seen all year in Kansas (34th per KenPom).

On the other side, the Miners' defensive game plan revolves around limiting three-point attempts, 30th in the nation, but will play right into Kansas' hands as they are posting the 11th best two-point field goal percentage on the year.

I'd play this up to -21.
