LEWISTON, N.Y. — The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency is considering offering tax breaks to a Canadian firm that is proposing to a 5 megawatt solar farm on vacant farmland.
Kilmer Solar LLC of Baden, Ontario, plans to develop the solar farm on 33 acres at 4616 Townline Road in Ransomville, a hamlet in the Town of Lewiston.
Though other solar farms have been built or proposed in Niagara County, this is the first time the NCIDA has considered tax breaks for a solar farm, said agency counsel Mark Gabriele.
