Theatre 29 proudly announces casting for their upcoming production of a new adaptation of the Agatha Christie masterwork, “Murder on the Orient Express”.  This spine-tingling production will take the stage January 14-30, 2022 under the helm of multi-award-winning director Kathryn Ferguson.

From the mistress of the murder mystery, Agatha Christie, comes a new adaptation by multi-award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig (Noises Off, Lend Me A Tenor). It’s 1934. Snow is falling. And the Orient Express is filled to capacity. What starts as a luxurious journey through Europe becomes the scene of a murder in the blink of an eye. Just after midnight, the famous train is stopped in its tracks by a snowdrift. When the isolated passengers discover a man stabbed to death in his room, they quickly become suspects as the one and only detective Hercule Poirot strives to identify the killer before the murderer strikes again. This clever and quick-witted adaptation will keep you asking, “Whodunit?”

In the role of the iconic Belgian master detective, Hercule Poirot is Ian Ferris.  He will be assisted by fellow Belgian Monsieur Bouc, who is the manager of the train company, played by Cruz Jimenez.  The list of potential murderers on this fateful journey includes the eventual victim American mobster Samuel Ratchett. played by Chris Fleischman who will also portray the hot-tempered Scottish Colonel Artbuthnot. The train’s conductor, Frenchman Michel, is played by Andrew Perkins.  Brash, opinionated American Helen Hubbard is played by award-winning actress Virginia Sulick.  Exiled Russian Princess Dragomiroff will be Martha Boyd, with her traveling companion, the rather meekly pious Swede Greta Ohlsson, played by Anna Alkire.  The famous beauty, the Hungarian Countess Andrenyi, is Sabrina Olsen who shows there is much more to her than meets the eye.  Milquetoast American secretary Hector McQueen is played by Robert Ames.  English rose and Colonel Arbuthnot’s paramour Mary Debenham is played by Katie Fleischman.

Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express will run weekends at Theatre 29 from January 14th through 30th with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
