Michelle Monaghan Among Actresses to Star Opposite Vince Vaughn in Drama Series BAD MONKEY at Apple TV+

Michelle Monaghan (The Path, True Detective), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim, Anne Boleyn), and Meredith Hagner (Search Party, Vacation Friends) have joined the cast of the Apple TV+ drama Bad Monkey. They join Vince Vaughn (Swingers, Dodgeball), who was previously cast in the series, which was written and executive produced by Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence. Marcos Siega (Dexter, The Flight Attendant) has signed on to direct and executive produce the first episode.

The story is based on Carl Hiaasen’s popular 2013 novel, and Deadline gives the following description:

Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a one-time detective demoted to restaurant inspector in Southern Florida. A severed arm found by a tourist out fishing pulls Yancy into the world of greed and corruption that decimates the land and environment in both Florida and the Bahamas. And yes, there’s a monkey.

In the series, “Monaghan will play Bonnie, a mysterious woman trapped in an abusive, loveless marriage. She complicates Yancy’s life both personally and professionally as a secret from her past resurfaces.

“Turner-Smith will portray Dragon Queen/Gracie, she’s both revered and feared on Andros as she practices Obeah alongside her contentious grandmother.

“Hagner is Eve, she’s questioned by Yancy about her dead husband and he feels she might know more than she’s saying.”

This sounds like an interesting series with a great cast. I’m looking forward to checking it out. What do you think?
