I have to watch these shows,I really have to watch these shows if only as a completist but by gum the inane comments from otherwise respected critics probably getting paid for watching a bunch of clip files that where broadcast before some of them were born are driving me mad . Why do we have to see every clip 8 times to get the point across? and have these people led such sheltered lives that every clip sends them into fits of amazement?

The shows themselves don’t bother me, they’re lightweight and cost the channels next to nothing to make and I’ve watched a few bits of some of them and enjoyed some clips (even if it is Bobby Davao damn near braining himself for the fiftieth time).
My issue is the title. It’s so overly dramatic. A lot of these are just people getting an attack of the giggles or getting a line wrong or something, not exactly anything horribly wrong.

Exactly my point although I may not have put it so succinctly as you....Like me you wait for something really dramatic and someone makes a risky remark thats not even broadcast...Makes me wonder what other joys we miss in the editing..No doubt there are many hours of unbroadcast gems to come ..GHU

You've deleted your previous thread. I watched the programme for about 10 minutes. I don't mind watching the clips - they are funny. So many talking heads ruining it. Supposed to be comedians, but I doubt it.

I remember reading that these shows use talking heads to get around copyright laws.

If they just showed the clip without someone giving their opinion on it, they would need to licence it properly and pay fees. By having a talking head commenting on the clip, it becomes fair use of a copyrighted work for review/comment/criticism.

I'm sure many of the same talking heads keep appearing on all these clip shows. You could almost make a living as a celeb from just doing them alone I should imagine, they're so many of them particularly on CH5.

CH5 can’t half dredge up some old crap at times.

I had never seen or heard of any of them. Pretty sure they were people bribed from the street with sweeties.
