PLAY COMME des GARÇONS Adds Its Red Heart to K-Way's Jackets
Reworking the Leon Half-Zip and Claude Full-Zip in a variety of colors.
PLAY COMME des GARÇONS is one of the most recognizable brands in the world thanks to one little thing: a small red heart. Now, this has been used to inform a new ready-to-wear capsule collection with the French outerwear brand K-Way, offering up its take on the Leon Half-Zip and Claude Full-Zip jackets.
Made of durable ripstop nylon, both jackets appear in a variety of colors ranging from red to blue, orange, navy, white, and finally beige, which notably have all been colors that have been found on PLAY COMME des GARÇONS’ pieces throughout the years. Each also comes with a ventilation flap at the jacket’s yoke for added breathability, an adjustable hood with elastic draw-cords, and zippered pockets at the waist which is where the jacket can be folded into itself when not in use.
Both styles, across all colors, are finished with a PLAY COMME des GARÇONS heart on the rear of the jacket on the shoulder area, as well as another heart that’s next to K-Way’s branding on the front left-hand side of the jacket. To celebrate the collaboration, CdG enlisted the professional surfer Patrick Towersey, the professional kayaker and outdoors enthusiast Adam Edwards, and the professional skateboarder Beatrice Domond to capture the jackets in their own environments — Newport Beach, Oregon, and downtown New York, respectively.
Take a look at the campaign above, and purchase the PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x K-Way collaboration from COMME des GARÇONS and Dover Street Market retail locations worldwide, as well as on the DSM e-shop, from December 11. All the jackets will retail for £150 GBP (approximately $198 USD).
