Lights in the city: Places to see Christmas lights in the Fayetteville area

Holiday Lights in the Garden takes place at Cape Fear Botanical Garden multiple days this month.

With the holiday season in its full swing, check out these six places to see Christmas lights in the Fayetteville area. 

Cape Fear Botanical Garden 

Throughout December, Cape Fear Botanical Garden has launched its Holiday Lights in the Garden from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 10 to Dec. 12 and Dec. 17 to Dec. 23.

Light Up the City

Cool Spring Downtown District launched its annual Light Up the City walking tour on Dec. 1. The event serves as a storefront decorating competition for business owners and a walking tour of the holiday decor for locals and visitors. More than 35 businesses, restaurants and museums light up their buildings, and there is a 14-foot tall community tree in front of the Arts Council.

Sweet Valley Ranch 

Sweet Valley Ranch has launched its Festival of Lights for the holiday season. 

The light display will be from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Dec. 17 through Dec. 19 and Dec. 23 and Dec. 26.

Ticket prices range from $8 to $10. Tickets can be purchased on the ranch's website

Christmas in the Park is a drive-thru event held at Arnette Park in Fayetteville.

Arnette Park 

Fayetteville/Cumberland County Parks and Recreation will hold a drive-thru Christmas in the Park event at Arnette Park, featuring the sights and sounds of the holiday season. The free event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 12-16 and Dec. 19-21.

Holly Jolly Trolley 

The Cool Spring Downtown District will hold its Holly Jolly Trolley holiday tour for one night only Thursday.

The trolley will feature lights and decorations along with a performance by Michael Daughtry. Tickers for the event are $20 for adults, $10 for children and free for children under two. 

Meadow Lights 

A little further from is another light display in Benson.  Meadow Lights returned this year with its tour of lights. The free show will run until Dec. 31. The event is open from 5 to 10 p.m. at Godwin Lake Road in Benson.
