Devin Nunes' Cow Celebrates Congressman's Resignation: 'Anyone Up For an Epic Party?'

Devin Nunes' Cow, the Twitter account that the California congressman unsuccessfully tried to sue, has celebrated the news that he will be leaving office to join Donald Trump's new social media network.

The parody Twitter account, which has more than 771,000 followers, posted "Anybody up for an epic party?" and the hashtag "#DevinNunesIsAnIdiot" shortly after the announcement broke on Monday.

The Republican congressman announced that he will be retiring from the House of Representatives to begin his new role as Chief Executive Officer of Trump Media & Technology Group [TMTG] in January 2022.

The Devin Nunes' Cow also posted a picture of the 48-year-old along with the caption: "Awarded for bravery in the face of hostile internet cows," as well as retweeting a number of other messages gleefully celebrating Nunes' departure from the House.

Nunes has had a long-running dispute with the cow Twitter account, as well as a second one entitled "Devin Nunes' Mom."

In 2019, Nunes filed a $250 million lawsuit against both accounts, claiming the accounts orchestrated a "defamation campaign of stunning breadth and scope, one that no human being should ever have to bear and suffer in their whole life."

The suit even claimed that the accounts were having a direct effect on his election bids, noting how he won his seat in California 22nd District 2018 by a "much narrow margin" of 52.7 percent compared to 67. 6 percent in 2016.

Both Devin Nunes' Mom and Devin Nunes' Cow were set up in the wake of the revelations that his family had moved its dairy farm from California to Iowa, even though Nunes continued to tout his deep roots to farms in Tulare in The Golden State during his time in office.

In June 2020, Virginia Judge John Marshall ruled that Nunes could not sue Twitter over the accounts, noting that the social media company is not personally liable for what people post on the platform under federal law.

In response to the ruling, the Devin Nunes' Cow account tweeted an mocked up image of the congressman covered in milk with the caption. "The herd responded to Devin's loss in court today.

"I had to hide the [ice cream emoji] so they didn't throw it as well. #DevinNunesIsAnIdiot."

Nunes has continued the fights against the accounts, including attempting to file subpoenas to force Twitter to reveal who is behind the anonymous profiles.

Despite his battles against the Twitter accounts which are highly critical of him, Nunes announced in his statement confirming he is joining TMTG that "the time has come to reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship."

He added: "The United States of America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream. I'm humbled and honored President Trump has asked me to lead the mission and the world class team that will deliver on this promise."
