Monday night was just Joel Embiid's fifth game back following a three-week spell on the sidelines last month due to COVID-19. Based on what we saw from him against the Charlotte Hornets, however, it is clear that the Sixers superstar is looking as good as ever.

Embiid exploded for a season-high 43 points on Monday as he led the Sixers to a 127-124 victory against the Hornets. After the game, the 27-year-old revealed that at this point, he is still feeling the after-effects of his bout against the coronavirus:

“I'm not even close to [100 percent]. I'm still feeling it,” Embiid said, via Michael Kaskey-Blomain of CBS Sports. “I get tired easily, feel pretty weak. But every single day [I'm] slowly getting better. So I just got to keep pushing myself. My teammates, they push me. They want me to be making all the plays offensively and defensively, so as long as I got that trust I'm still going to keep pushing.”

If Embiid isn't a hundred percent right now then the rest of the NBA should be terrified. The Hornets had no answer to the 7-foot big man as he finished with 43 points on 15-of-20 shooting and 12-of-14 from the line, 15 rebounds, and seven assists in 41 minutes of action.

When Embiid first returned to action, he confessed that he really thought he “wasn't going to make it” with how hard COVID-19 hit him. It's absolutely great to see him back on the court and Sixers fans everywhere are just excited to see where Embiid is able to take this team this season.
