You have to go all the way back to 2007 for the last time an NBA team won five straight games without ever trailing in any of the games, but it happened on Monday night when the Memphis Grizzlies were able to accomplish the seemingly impossible feat in a 105-90 road victory over the Miami Heat. The Grizzlies have now beaten the Heat, the Toronto Raptors, the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Oklahoma City Thunder (by an NBA record 73 points,) all without letting their opponent get one single lead.
What makes the feat even more astonishing is that the Grizzlies have done the entire thing without their best player in point guard Ja Morant. The budding superstar injured his knee roughly two weeks ago and has yet to return to play. In the meantime, Morant can be seen sitting court-side next to his teammates during each game and also on his personal Twitter account, which he used on Monday to display how proud he was of his teammates, via NBA on ESPN.

Up next for the Grizzlies is a four-game homestand that includes a rematch with the Mavericks, a game against the Los Angeles Lakers, a cross-conference battle against the Philadelphia 76ers, and finally concludes with a matchup with the lowly Houston Rockets. If the Grizzlies make it through that stretch and are still yet to trail in a game, just give them the championship right then and there. All jokes aside, the eventual return of Morant to a squad that is currently playing some of the best basketball of any team in the past decade is absolutely frightening for the Western Conference and the NBA in general.
