Some boxing fans believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. has become obsessed with former foe Canelo Alvarez. Based on his latest remarks, that theory sounds true.

Mayweather's protege Gervonta Davis scored a unanimous decision win over Isaac Cruz in Los Angeles last Saturday to claim the WBA lightweight belt. While he lauded the young boxer, Pretty Boy also went on another wild rant in the post-fight press conference to lambast Alvarez (via TalkSport).

“They don’t wanna see Tank (Davis) win because they feel like they’re beating me, because I dominated the fight game for so long. But these same writers out here, they’ll praise Canelo. Oh, ‘He can pick and choose who he wants to fight.’ I’m gonna tell you the truth about Canelo–motherf****r (was) easy. A cake walk, easy. Y’all sitting up here, y’all praising this dude, this dude was nothing. I was almost 40 years old when I cooked this dude, easy.”

For the record, Mayweather didn't easily beat Alvarez. He escaped with a majority decision in 2013, which is far from being a cake walk. Maybe a cake walk but while carrying 100 bags of sand.

Alvarez openly rooted for Isaac prior to the fight with Davis. Mayweather also banned Davis from using Canelo's “No Boxing No Life” gloves during training.

To end this, maybe Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Canelo Alvarez could settle their beef the only way they know how: A bake-off. Cake, preferably.
