Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II has made quite a unique remark as he heaped praise on Stephen Curry.
Now playing his 13th season in the league, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has not aged one bit in terms of playing style. His constant and swift movement with and without the ball is still one of his offensive arsenal, and it didn't take long before his teammate Gary Payton II notice it.
According to Payton, Curry's “ridiculous” style of playing is similar to that of a “soccer player.”
“He doesn't stop moving,” Payton said of Curry via NBC Sports. “I kind of think of him as a soccer player that just goes through the 48 minutes and runs out there on the pitch and is just going. He doesn't stop moving. He creates so much attention and he wears guys and defenses down. It's ridiculous.”
“His conditioning and how he takes care of his body, it's ridiculous,” he concluded.
As it stands, Curry is just continuing where he left off and is now the third best scorer in the NBA with 27.5 points per outing. Atop that, he is also edging closer to breaking Ray Allen's all-time record in 3s made.
However, Payton bared that none of it seems to matter to the Warriors talisman as he only got his head on winning.
“That's just Steph,” Payton stressed. “He cares about the win more than personal stats. I know he doesn't think about it, he just goes out there trying to make the right play for his team and everything falls into place.”
