By defeating the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, the Arizona Cardinals can clinch a spot in the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season.

For more than half of the last decade, the Arizona Cardinals have sat at home after the regular season and watched the playoffs like the rest of their fans. This year, however, the Cardinals’ absence from postseason football is about to come to an end.

With a win on Sunday over the Chicago Bears, Arizona improved their record to 10-2 for the first time since 2015. That 2015 campaign just also happens to be the last time the Cardinals earned a spot in the playoffs.

Arizona still has five games remaining on their regular-season schedule, but their impressive success already has them heading into a scenario that could result in them clinching a playoff berth.

Beat the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14 and the Arizona Cardinals will be playoff bound

Heading into Week 14, the path to the playoffs is very simple for the Cardinals. Arizona will clinch a spot in the 2021 postseason if they are able to come away with a victory in their NFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

Definitely easier said than done, but considering how well the Cardinals have been playing this season, now isn’t the time to doubt them.

The Rams also come into the matchup having lost three of their last four games with their only win coming over the 2-10 Jacksonville Jaguars. So it’s hard to not feel confident about Arizona leaving the field with a victory over Los Angeles next Monday.

Even if the Cardinals somehow manage to lose to the Rams in Week 14, Arizona’s playoff chances are still very high. But the Cardinals would still like to get a win, especially since it would keep them in contention for the top seed in the NFC.
