The airline will now add service to Long Island's MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York, with one-way flights starting as low as $39.

Breeze, which has Northeast stops in Hartford, Connecticut, Providence, Rhode Island, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will run roundtrip flights weekly between Long Island and Norfolk, Virginia starting Feb. 17 on Sundays, Mondays, Thursday and Fridays.

Breeze will then start twice-weekly roundtrip flights on Feb. 18 between the MacArthur Airport and its Charleston, South Carolina, stop on Mondays and Fridays.

Monday's announcement came as the airline also announced it would increase its service on the East Coast with a stop in West Palm Beach, Florida.

"Breeze’s business model is to add 'nice, new nonstop' flights on routes where only connecting service is offered by other carriers," Neeleman said. "We’re excited to introduce Breeze service to South Florida and the New York area, and look forward to adding more routes from both Palm Beach and Islip."
