Hasan Ikhrata, executive director of the San Diego Association of Governments, met with The San Diego Union-Tribune Editorial Board Monday to discuss San Diego’s Regional Transportation Plan.

The plan has been in the works for more than two years and focuses on overhauling transportation in the region. In this interview, Ikhrata discusses the proposed per-mile fee, high-speed rail from the U.S.-Mexico border to Oceanside, a central transit hub and more.

The SANDAG board will vote on the plan on Friday, December 10.
